Learning objectives are as follows: 

  • Understand what Interventional Radiologists do 
  • Understand how to use our expertise as a resource, and define a clear referral pathway.
  • Understand what venous insufficiency is and what clinical problems venous insufficiency can cause. 
  • Be familiar with presenting signs and symptoms and understand the scope of disease processes treated. 
  • Understand work up and treatment options. 
  • Be able to educate patients effectively on management regarding the focused topics of uterine sparing therapy and venous diseases.

Speaker Bios: 

Marco Ugas, MD, Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Central Oregon Radiology Associates, Director – Vein Clinic. Dr. Marco Ugas specializes in treating peripheral arterial disease, aortic reconstruction, iliocaval reconstruction, creation of transhepatic portosystemic shunts (TIPS), retrograde variceal embolization (BRTO / PARTO), locoregional hepatic and renal therapies (TACE, Y-90, microwave ablation), venous insufficiency, uterine artery embolization, prostate artery embolization, and many other minimally invasive endovascular procedures. 

Benjamin S English, MD, Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Central Oregon Radiology Associates, Section Co-Chief. Dr. English specializes in minimally invasive image guided therapies including peripheral vascular disease, aortic aneurysm repair, deep vein thrombus, uterine fibroids, varicosities, kyphoplasty, and especially interventional oncology cancer therapies.
